About Us

Dr. Krause has 30 years of experience re-building sports teams, sports programs, and athletic departments across the country. Repeating of the re-building process has identified those aspects of unsuccessful programs that normally have to be addressed. It is surprising how often the problems are similar with programs that are not succeeding at a normal level.

Jim has college and high school coaching experience in a number of sports. His college experience includes basketball, baseball, softball, golf and football. high school coaching includes basketball, softball, and soccer for both women and men. Dr. Krause started and coached both soccer programs and had to fight the football powers in Alabama to get the programs going. Building championship programs is a process that can be learned and repeated regardless of sport or level.

Administrative experience includes high school, college, university and professional sports. Guest administrative responsibilities at the Atlanta Olympics and the NCAA Final Four add to Dr. Krause's list of valuable experiences. Though each level has unique aspects, providing the necessary blocks for building a championship department can be amazingly similar. Staffing, funding, facilities and Title IX compliance are areas that need attention regardless of level. High school sports require athlete development at the lower levels and college and university sports require recruiting and retention programs, but coaching and administrative expertise is needed everywhere.

One of Dr. Krause's toughest challenges was taking control of a floundering professional soccer franchise in a State (Alabama) where football is the ONLY sport. Relying on lesson's learned earlier he instituted programs which stressed mutual respect, consistent customer service and constant community visibility for the personnel. The changes improved internal relationships, community support, and gradually, ticket sales and media interest. Preparing for the long term had to be built on the strength of the present.
